What Happened To The Perfect Female Figure?
Studies have depicted that the present day woman is quite different from the one in sixties. She is not only different in size, and bulk, but also the way she is leading her life. The entire dimensions of woman have changed now. She is comparatively more bulky, tall, and even the shoe size is also increased than it was before. It has been seen that in sixties majority of the British women have slender body with 5 feet n 2 inches of height. In addition, the figure was quite slim at that time.
The feet size was about 31/2 while 12 size of dress was used by most of the women. The then lifestyle was quite active and women used to work, and move in an active manner, as compared to the present day lifestyle. The transformation of figure may be due to the change in lifestyle.
Let us directly jump to 2009, and we notice that we were never as careful about our figures as we are now, but still most among us have ballooned. We are taller, bulkier, and less curvilinear as it has been pointed out by the UK National women figure Survey.
The statistics put forward by the UK National sizing survey in 1951 are quite different from the measurements of today. It shows that a huge difference has emerged which is staggering to certain extent. The increase in height depicts that the diets are more nutritious, and balanced as compared to before, while the increase in weight and expansion of feet is not a good sign. The hourglass shape is now 38-34-40, which is not up to the mark; however, women are striving to achieve an ideal figure.
Now hips are nearly one, and a half inch bigger, and so are the busts, and when it comes to waist, there is a difference of six and a half inches, which indicates that almost all of us have a little, or somewhat bigger tummy. These changes have not only affected our looks, but they have also cast their impacts on our health.
There are certain factors behind these changes in our shapes, for instance, if we are taller now, it is a result of plentiful, and better diet. Now we have all the important nutrients in our diets in a right proportion that are considered essential for proper body growth. This gain in height is also a result of some changes in our environment, as we have warmer homes, better sanitation, and much improved medicines now.
However, increase in weight is due to the deficiency of activity. Now, women are more apt to carry out indoor activities rather than keeping themselves active and alert outdoors. Workout is needed only when weight is increased, otherwise there is a lack of healthy lifestyle. Due to this reason, weight gain, and ageing are the more commonly occurring phenomena.
It is very easy to put on weight, but it takes all your energy to loose a single pound in quite a lot of time. To get bulkier is not the destiny; in fact, it is your careless attitude towards life.
